Terms of use

By navigating on the Curio website, you agree to comply with these terms of use, the general terms of use for CBC/Radio-Canada digital services, as well as all laws applicable to such navigation. The terms of use may be amended from time to time, so please come back to review them periodically.

Curio website to be used exclusively for educational and non-commercial purposes.

a) General access – in educational institutions:

Access is authenticated automatically through the institution’s IP address and does not require school credentials. You may use the Curio website and its content for educational and research purposes only, and not for any commercial or profit-making purposes.

You may present the Curio website and its content for educational purposes and not for profit, in front of an audience consisting primarily of students from the educational institution.

b) Remote access – with school credentials:

Remote access is permitted when you sign in with your school credentials. Such access allows the Curio website and its content to be viewed outside your institution for educational and research purposes only, and exclusively for your personal use.

Using your school credentials, you can create a personalized profile allowing you to select your preferences, organize content based on your specific needs, share content with other users and use the full range of features available on the Curio website.

Authentication

Authentication through school credentials is possible with a corporate email address, single sign-on (SSO) or a proxy, based on the preference of your educational institution. Authentication through school credentials must be for the sole use of the registered user to whom the credentials belong. You are responsible for preventing unauthorized access to the Curio website and its content via your credentials. You must notify CBC/Radio-Canada immediately if your login information is compromised or if there is any actual or potential security breach.

To access your personalized profile and saved content, either remotely or in your educational institution, you must sign in with your school credentials to confirm your affiliation with the subscribing institution.

This procedure ascertains that your educational institution is a legitimate Curio subscriber. As a result, personal email addresses may not be used to access Curio.

Availability

Available content may vary from time to time. CBC/Radio-Canada may, at its sole discretion, change the Curio website and its content, including adding or removing content.

Viewing quality may vary from one device to another, and may depend on multiple factors, including your location, available bandwidth and internet connection speed. CBC/Radio-Canada makes no warranty as to content-viewing quality on your device.

Termination

In the event of non-compliance with these terms of use, CBC/Radio-Canada reserves the right to suspend or revoke your access to the Curio website. At the end of your subscription period, or if your subscription is terminated, you must cease all use of the Curio website and its content.
